Methods of use. Application of medical mud

Mud applications ensure good results. Medical mud enriched with mineral substances and organic chemicals has effect not only on the upper layer of the skin but also on subcutaneous tissues and on all cells of the body thus improving activity of kidneys and pancreas. It also cleans digestive tract, stimulates blood circulation and lymphatic flow through the body – not only on the areas of mud application.

Method one – mud wraps.

One of the methods for the use of medical mud is wraps.

After warming up mud to a certain temperature, a 2-3 mm thick layer has to be spread onto the area of treatment with hands. Cover application with a polythene, and in order to preserve warmth cover it with a blanket or a warm cloth. This method allows medical mud deeply soak into subcutaneous tissues of the skin and nurtures tissue with useful substances preventing clogging of blood-vessels.  Greenhouse effect increases temperature of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, improves blood circulation and lymphatic flow. At the same time, excretion of fat cells and excessive liquid through the skin pores takes place.

Method two – application until desiccation.

After application of mud, patient waits until it completely dries. Using this method, mud will have a greater effect on the skin but not its subcutaneous tissue. This method is recommended for those who have problems of loose skin or stretch marks and scars, as well as for those who just want their skin to be smooth and silky. After drying out, mud slightly tightens the skin causing a light prickle. It has also been observed that after application of this method for the first time, purulent rash can be observed on the skin a few days after the procedure (rash as if penetrates through the pores from the deeper layers of the skin); however, after 4 – 5 days rash disappears since deeper layers of the skin depurate. The positive effects of this method are the following: skin becomes cleaner; blood circulation of the upper layer of the skin is stimulated; skin becomes soft and silky; if the skin has stretch marks, it becomes less visible or disappear completely; in case of explicit cellulite, the skin surface becomes smoother diminishing the “orange peel” effect. The only disadvantage of this method is that the dried mud is more difficult to wash off than after the use of the wrap method.

Optimal and most effective course – use of the wrap and desiccation methods alternately.
General applications are not recommended in the following cases:

  • with increased body temperature;
  • with hypertension and in case of serious conditions of cardiovascular diseases;
  • during acute diseases, as well as during acute periods and serious acute purulent processes at chronic diseases.

SPINAL DISC HERNIATION

At least 3 treatment stages have to be carried out.

Stage one of treatment. It is done without application of massage and manual therapy (mandatory precondition). It is necessary in order to take off the inflammation from the spinal discs and renew elasticity of the spine muscles.

The procedure has to be done daily. Apply medical mud in a thin layer (1-2 mm) starting from the cervical vertebrae to the lumbar vertebrae, cover with a polyethylene (polythene used for covering of furniture during repair works or ordinary garbage bag), cover a warm blanket on top and lie for 20-45 minutes depending on your feeling (you can hear noises in the ears – in such case wash the mud off). After the procedure, wash the mud off with warm water not using soap!

Repeat the procedure daily during a period of 10-12 days.
After the first treatment course, a 20-25 day break has to be observed.

Stage two of treatment. It is done analogously to the stage one with the difference that before applications massage and/or manual therapy is advisable. Peculiarity: massage or manual therapy has to be done carefully – without causing pain. Strong manual therapy cannot be done not to worsen condition of spinal vertebrae.

Stage three of treatment. The procedure is carried out after 2-3 months for a strengthening effect. Massage is allowed.
